On 15th March 2019 during Friday prayer in Christchurch, New Zealand, in two consecutive terror attacks on mosques, innocent mosque goers were shot down in a terrorist attack dubbed the Christchurch Mosque Shootings. The terrorist was called Brenton Terrant who's motives were driven by far right politics and a belief in white supremacy.

The Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern displayed commendable composure, empathy, compassion and unity in the wake of the country's mass killing. Jacinda Ardern became the face of the New Zealanders grief and sorrow. She mourned with the friends and families of the victims showing cultural respect by wearing a black headscarf. She denounced the white nationalist ideology that drove the massacre and stood as a symbol of strength, power, kindness and importantly unity by facing racism.
